Finance Administrator

The Solidaridad Network Secretariat is located in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and works in support of the global network. The main responsibilities of the Network Secretariat relate to the quality and coherence of the organization’s strategy and programming, as well to the systems and services that are needed to ensure proper implementation of the same, like Financial Management, Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, IT, HRM and Communication.

WHAT WILL YOUR ROLE BE?

At the Solidaridad Network Secretariat you’ll be responsible for the financial administration of the organization, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. You’ll be an important member of our Finance Team, working closely with our colleagues at the Solidaridad Network Secretariat in Utrecht.

You’ll be responsible for the following:

Administrative tasks

  • Compiling, processing and updating administrative data in a timely, correct and complete manner.

  • Managing the correctness and completeness of the financial administration; validating invoices, carrying out and checking payments to creditors, general ledger postings, receipts, banks and journal entries

  • Processing salary data so that wages and additional charges are paid correctly and punctually

  • Administering personnel data ensuring all required information is present and correct

  • Managing the digital and physical archive, keeping archives up to date and providing dossiers/documents on request

  • Other duties as required

The result? Quickly and accurately processed data.

 

Providing information

  • Providing administrative information to employees as a key point of contact

  • Supplying internal and external stakeholders with correct and punctual information when requested, and raising issues when necessary

  • Producing regular administrative reports to support the wider organization’s activities

The result? Stakeholders have the information they need in good time.

 

Improving work processes

  • Identifying bottlenecks in processes and making suggestions for, and implementing, improvements

  • Solving various problems within the established guidelines and procedures

The result? More effective processes.

 

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:

  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles

  • Relevant education and/or relevant work experience of at least two years

  • Good knowledge of ERP (financial) applications, G-Suite and MS Excel

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong organization skills

  • Integrity and stress tolerance

  • Positive-thinking and result-driven approach

  • Fluency in English and a good knowledge of Dutch
