Our ambitious colleagues at Solidaridad in Europe with the cheque
Fifteen minutes of fame for non-profit organizations
Every year, (international) non-profit organizations in the Netherlands who have contributed significantly to improving the lives of others are spotlighted at this event. The Dutch Postcode Lottery allocates half of its revenues earned from lottery tickets among 112 organizations. This year, a record was set with a total of 357 million euros distributed among these organizations altogether.
The Postcode Lottery is very popular in the Netherlands. It now totals about 2.9 million participants and its overall revenues last year have grown to 715 million euros. The Dutch Postcode Lottery has been active in donating its earnings to non-profit organizations since 1989 and its total contribution up till now stands at 5.4 billion euros.

Leonardo DiCaprio speaks of the need to act
The Koninklijk Theater Carré in Amsterdam (Royal Carré Theatre) welcomed two special guests during the evening: actor and environmentalist Leonardo DiCaprio and tennis player and philanthropist Rafael Nadal. Both attended the event on behalf of their own foundations, respectively the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation (LDF) and the Rafa Nadal Foundation.
Leonardo DiCaprio has been a well-known and devoted environmentalist for years. He held a speech at this year’s Goed Geld Gala about the severity of climate change and the importance of addressing it. You can watch his speech below.
