Award-winning photojournalist draws attention to plight of sugarcane cutters

Ed Kashi is a photojournalist, filmmaker and educator dedicated to documenting the social and political issues that define our times. Through his photography and filmmaking, along with his work as a mentor, teacher and lecturer, Kashi is a leading voice in the photojournalism and visual storytelling community. Commissioned by Solidaridad and La Isla Foundation, an exhibition of Ed Kashi’s photographs titled “Sugarcane, Fuel for Change” will be on view at De Melkweg Expo in Amsterdam from 28 August to 4 October.
