Do you speak Chichewa and have a good knowledge of the Malawi tea sector?

Solidaridad, in coordination with its partners, the Rainforest Alliance, UTZ Certified and Ethical Tea Partnership is recruiting a Tea Programme Coordinator to coordinate its activities on building a sustainable tea industry in Malawi.

Driven by the increasing market demand for certified sustainable tea, Solidaridad, Rainforest Alliance and UTZ Certified have expanded their programmes in the African tea sector. The Rainforest Alliance sustainable tea programme currently extends across the East and Southern African region, with over 100,000 farms certified in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Malawi. Solidaridad in partnership with UTZ Certified started its work with the Malawian tea sector in 2008 and in 2009 and 2010 extended it to respectively Kenya and Mozambique. Solidaridad, Rainforest Alliance and UTZ Certified have begun collaborating with the Ethical Tea Partnership to provide more effective training and support to producers. Through this position, the partners will build their collaboration further in order to deliver services to producers most efficiently.
