India and China join hands to promote sustainability in the tea sector

The United Planters Association of Southern India (UPASI) and China Tea Marketing Association (CTMA) signed a first-ever Memorandum of Understanding to promote sustainable tea production and consumption. The aim of the agreement is to incrementally achieve relevant UN-mandated Sustainable Development Goals while building an inclusive, sustainable and resilient future for the tea industry. The memorandum was signed in the presence of Musdhalifah Machmud, the Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Republic of Indonesia. Solidaridad is providing technical and financial support for the implementation of the agreement.
