Shahamin is the CEO of the CSR Center in Bangladesh and has over 25 years of experience in the area of international development. She has worked with organizations, including the Harvard Institute for International Development (HIID), Ashoka Foundation, Canadian International Development Agency, Actionaid International, UNDP, and DFID.
Shahamin previously served as the chair of the Solidaridad Asia’s Continental Supervisory Board, and has been a member of the International Supervisory Board since 2017. Her support has been pivotal in guiding and growing Solidaridad into a leading agent for sustainable supply chains in Asia.
She has spent a significant portion of her professional career advocating for sustainability transformation. She holds valuable expertise in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development. In Bangladesh she has supported development of the National CSR Policy for Children and initiated the National CSR Guideline for the Bangladesh Government. As Executive Director of the Global Compact Network Bangladesh, she successfully advocated for the implementation of the SDGs within companies doing business in the country.
Her extensive experience and unique profile make Shahamin a valuable asset to our global efforts to develop sustainable supply chains. Shahamin takes on the board chair role from Mariame Dao Gabala, who served as board chair for two four-year terms as our second chair person after Mr Ton Geurts.
Mariame made enormous contributions to Solidaridad, leading the organization as we celebrated our 50 year anniversary. She also lead the transition process as former Executive Director Nico Roozen handed over the role to current Executive Director of Jeroen Douglas.

Mariame will continue to serve as a board member for another year with the African CSB.
Shahamin begins her term on 1 January 2023.
