Business skills bring better market access for Ugandan farmers

About 2,000 fruit and vegetable farmers in Uganda now have more efficient production methods and better access to local markets as a result of a year-long project with support from local businesses, Sulma Foods and House of Seeds. As part of the project evaluation, Solidaridad conducted assessments and interviews among the farmers with an emphasis on personal experiences, challenges and lessons learned. Farmers participating in the project noticed an immediate increase in yields due to their new knowledge of smart agricultural practices and new business skills, according to Solidaridad’s recent case studies.
